Meet Paul, Your Driving Instructor in Bridgend
Hi, I’m Paul, the driving instructor behind RoadSpence Driving School. I’ve been helping learners develop their driving skills for years and am a fully qualified DVSA-approved driving instructor.
I provide friendly, structured manual driving lessons throughout Bridgend, specialising in nervous learners, road safety and building genuine confidence behind the wheel.
From Hospitality to Driving Instruction
Before becoming a driving instructor, I spent more than 20 years working in hospitality.
That experience taught me the value of patience, clear communication and helping people feel comfortable. I wanted to use those skills in a role where I could make a lasting difference, and driving instruction gave me the opportunity to help people gain an important life skill.
The most rewarding part of the job is seeing a learner progress from feeling nervous or uncertain to becoming a safe, confident and independent driver.

My lessons are always one-to-one and tailored to the individual. We’ll work at a pace that challenges you while ensuring you feel supported and in control.

Passing the practical test matters, but my aim is also to give you the judgement, confidence and safety skills you need for driving independently after the test.

Lessons take place in a 2020 manual Ford Fiesta. It is a comfortable and approachable car for learners, making it well suited to developing control, awareness and confidence on the road.
