Terms & Conditions

1. General

These Terms and Conditions apply to all driving lessons provided by RoadSpence (referred to as "the Instructor"), a DVSA-approved driving instructor operating in the United Kingdom.

By booking lessons with RoadSpence, the student ("you" or "the pupil") agrees to the terms below.

2. Driving Licences and Fitness to Drive

• You must hold a valid UK provisional or full driving licence.
• You must produce your driving licence for inspection on your first lesson.
• You must be able to read a vehicle registration plate at a distance of 20.5 metres (with glasses or contact lenses if required).
• You must inform RoadSpence of any medical condition, disability, or medication that may affect your ability to drive safely.

3. Lessons

• Lesson times will be mutually agreed upon between RoadSpence and the pupil.
• The duration of each lesson is typically 60 minutes unless agreed otherwise.
• RoadSpence reserves the right to postpone lessons if the weather or road conditions are deemed unsafe.

4. Payments and Cancellations

• All lessons must be paid for in advance or at the beginning of the lesson, unless agreed otherwise.
• Payment can be made by cash, bank transfer, or other agreed methods.
• A minimum of 24 hours’ notice must be given to cancel or reschedule a lesson. Failure to do so may result in the full lesson fee being charged.
• Block bookings are non-refundable but may be transferable.

5. Punctuality

• You are expected to be punctual. If you arrive late, the lesson will still end at the scheduled time.
• If RoadSpence is late due to unforeseen circumstances, any lost time will be made up or refunded.

6. Driving Tests

• RoadSpence will advise when you are ready to book your driving test.
• Use of the Instructor’s vehicle for your practical test is subject to RoadSpence's agreement.
• A minimum of one lesson must be taken within 7 days of the test date to confirm readiness.

7. Instructor's Responsibilities

• RoadSpence will provide a dual-controlled, roadworthy, and insured vehicle.
• Lessons will be conducted in a professional and courteous manner.
• RoadSpence will adhere to the DVSA Code of Conduct.

8. Liability

• RoadSpence is not liable for any loss or damage arising from driving lessons or test failure.
• RoadSpence accepts no liability for accidents, injury, or damage during lessons unless due to Instructor negligence.

9. Complaints

• Any complaints should be raised directly with RoadSpence in the first instance.
• If unresolved, complaints can be escalated to the DVSA via https://www.gov.uk/complain-about-a-driving-test.

10. Data Protection

• Personal information is collected and stored in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018.
• Your details will not be shared with third parties without your consent, unless legally required.

11. Amendments

These Terms and Conditions may be updated at any time. Pupils will be notified of significant changes.
